CAS Participates in Workshop on Population Estimates in Lebanon

As part of a joint initiative, the Central Administration of Statistics, ESCWA, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the Population Program at the University of Southampton conducted a workshop on population estimates in Lebanon. The workshop addressed both traditional demographic methods and the use of geospatial information to calculate population estimates. The Central Administration of Statistics in Lebanon hosted this initiative, which brought together various relevant government institutions as well as international organizations operating in Lebanon. The workshop aimed to strengthen national capacities and contribute to updating the population data system to support evidence-based policymaking, despite the absence of population census data.
