CAS Participates in the Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on the Integrated Management of the Damour Area from Source to Sea

The Central Administration of Statistics participated in the Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on the Integrated Management of the Damour Area from Source to Sea, held in Beirut from 27 to 30 October 2025 at the UNESCO Regional Office. The Administration was represented by Ms. Nadine Saadeh and Ms. Tamara Maalouf. The workshop addressed the fundamental principles of integrated natural resource management in the Damour area and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation among national and international stakeholders to achieve sustainable and inclusive development in the region. The Central Administration of Statistics contributed to the discussions by highlighting the importance of accurate statistical data and geographic indicators in supporting sustainable planning and emphasizing the key role of statistics in assessing natural resources and monitoring the impact of environmental policies on local development. The workshop was organized by UNESCO, in collaboration with several ministries, public institutions, academic bodies, and civil society organizations, as part of efforts to promote a participatory approach to the protection of natural resources and the improved management of water basins in Lebanon.
